Since the early 80s, I’ve been fascinated with phono amplifiers. There so much to gain (and lose) at this point in the chain, that small things can make such big differences.

I started by building Audio Research clones and sometimes many versions of each; SP3, SP6, SP8 (my favourite) SP10 and SP11. I then went off on a detour of passive designs I came across in magazines (the internet didn’t exist as we know it now) but in the end, came back to SP8 clones.

The Past is the journey through developing my own designs leading up to The Development is how I arrived at the current design and a place I keep the ideas and circuits. The Present is the current design.
